How to apply
Step 1
Create an account and fill out the application forms in IRK System. Add your passport, academic documents, language proficiency proof.
Step 2
Pay the registration fee (85 PLN) for an individual account created in your IRK profile.
If you need additional banking information (such as IBAN or SWIFT/BIC) to make a transfer, use the “help” option in the IRK system.
Step 3
Prepare for an entrance exam if your programme requires it.
Step 4
The results of your application will be available in your IRK account. When you are qualified, you need to confirm your decision of undertaking a programme.
Step 5
After your confirmation is successfully delivered, you will receive an admission letter.
IMPORTANT!
If you don’t have a correspondence address in Poland, another EU country, Switzerland, or an EFTA-EEA country, and you don’t have a representative or consulate in Poland, you must appoint someone in Poland to receive your mail — otherwise all documents are delivered electronically. If you need the original admission decision or another document sent to an address outside the countries listed above, please contact us using the "help" option in the IRK system to arrange the delivery.
Documents required in the admission process
- Document entitling to further education in Poland:
UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES: a copy of the legalized/apostilled high school diploma (with exam results/grade list) containing a clause stating the right to apply for higher education in the country of issue, or another document recognized as equivalent to the Polish maturity certificate. The document must be translated by a sworn translator or consul. The original must be presented for inspection.
POSTGRADUATE STUDIES: a copy of the legalized/apostilled diploma (with supplement/grade list) or another document certifying completion of higher education abroad, recognized as equivalent to the appropriate Polish first-cycle degree diploma. The document must be translated by a sworn translator or consul. The original must be presented for inspection.
DOCTORAL STUDIES: a copy of the legalized/apostilled diploma or another document certifying completion of higher education abroad (with supplement/grade list), recognized as equivalent to the Polish master’s degree diploma. The document must be translated by a sworn translator or consul. The original must be presented for inspection.
POSTGRADUATE STUDIES: a copy of the legalized/apostilled diploma (with supplement/grade list) or another document certifying completion of higher education abroad, recognized as equivalent to the appropriate Polish first-cycle degree diploma. The document must be translated by a sworn translator or consul. The original must be presented for inspection.
Not sure if your diploma gives you access to study in Poland?
- Certificate of proficiency in the English language in accordance with the applicable announcement of the Prime Minister’s Office of January 13, 2021, regarding the procedure for conducting qualification proceedings in the civil service (applies to individuals wishing to study in English).
- Application form printed from the IRK system.
- Copy of the visa/residence permit (to be provided after admission to studies).
- Copy of a valid health insurance policy for a minimum of one year or a signed agreement with the National Health Fund (NFZ) or an EHIC card (to be provided after admission to studies).
TRANSLATION
Documents issued in a language other than Polish must be translated into Polish or English. The translation must be made by a sworn translator from the list of translators of Poland’s Ministry of Justice, a sworn translator from the EU (if the position of a sworn translator exists in a given country) or another translation into Polish or English confirmed by a Polish consul working in the country where the document has been issued.
LEGALISATION:
Legalisation is the process of confirming the validity of foreign official documents intended for use in Poland, especially when the country where the document was issued is not a party to the Hague Convention. In such cases, the Polish consular office in that country performs the legalization, which involves confirming the document’s compliance with the laws of the place of issuance by a consular official.
APOSTILLE:
The Apostille, according to the 1961 Hague Convention, verifies the authenticity of documents, enabling their use abroad. It serves as a confirmation of compliance, attached to another document to facilitate its international usage. The Apostille confirms the authenticity of the signature, the authority of the person signing the document, and, if necessary, the identity of the seal or stamp on the document. In most European countries, the formal authority issuing Apostilles for foreign documents is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country, and for educational documents, the relevant Ministry of Education.
